You Only Live Forever 5Kazuma was the first to reach the end of the shady, cool tunnel. The sight was too good to be true.
"GUYS!!! I THINK IT'S A TELEPORTER!!!"
"A what?" yelled back Itoh as he led the rest of the pack to Kazuma's position. Kazuma indicated a large metal column, hollow within and glass sided. A pane of glass was noticeably missing from the sides, making the cylinder a capsule just high and wide enough for a tall or heavy man to stand comfortably. "Oh, well, you may be right then."
Itoh moved to a screen adjacent to the tube, and expertly tapped keys on the keyboard. Then he paused. "You say this is the Sand Zone, right?"
Booster noticed a sign placed between the exit of the chamber and the device, and read it aloud. "'Welcome to The Sand Zone.' This is the Sand Zone alright."
"OK, thank you. All I needed," was Itoh's reply as he typed in more commands. Finally, he said triumphantly as the humming racket reached a crescendo, "The computer managed to link us to a destination, but we don't kno
You Only Live Forever 4As the two beings touched down beside the newly crowned Doctor, he could not help but grin. He was actually in possession of the Demon Crown! He was so excited, in fact, that he nearly missed the two creatures on either side of him introducing themselves.
"I am Misery, servant of the holder of the Demon Crown," began the woman, kneeling. Then she indicated the box-like being with her staff. "That's Balrog, also at your service."
"Good, good," said the Doctor evilly.
"What are your orders, sire?" asked Misery, still kneeling to the Doctor.
"Rise," said the Doctor, "and then I want you two tracking down the researchers that came with me. I want them alive. When you have them, go ahead and begin assembling a plantation for the Demon Flowers that I understand also reside on this island."
Misery rose from her submissive pose and promptly began levitating. "Your will be done, my lord," were her last words before she dissolved into thin air.
"HUZZAH!" yelled Balrog as he leapt into the air, b
You Only Live Forever 3Itoh was the first one to awaken that next morning. When he rose from bed, he swept the room with his eyes, and lo and behold, Doctor Date was missing!
"Where is that doctor?" asked Itoh to himself, inadvertently disturbing Momorin in the process.
"Why does that matter?" returned a groggy, cranky Momorin.
"I thought we were supposed to stick together," replied Itoh, stretching to get out of bed. His yawn awoke Booster, whom he had to step over to get up.
As each member of the expedition awoke and geared up to find their medic, Date had found a temple on the surface. Or, at least, what appeared to resemble one. He marched up the steps, and walked past the Greek columns on either side of a broad entrance.
And a giant chair awaited him there. Date couldn't help but think that it was actually a throne for the king of the island.
"If there's a king left," added Date under his breath as he approached.
And on closer inspection, a headpiece adorned the seat of the throne. It was a crown, at le
You Only Live Forever 2The chopper pilot pulled in close to the side, as close as the spinning rotors would allow him to get. He then turned his helmeted visage to Bond and said, "This is as close as I can manage. You'll have to jump."
"Oh, that's perfectly alright with me," replied James confidently, flashing back to his meeting with Q, the Quartermaster of MI-6.
"Bond," R had said, "I hope you bring these back in at the very least a semblance of one piece. Over here we have the pride of your current gear. I would like to introduce you to..." he paused, indicating a jetpack, on display atop a wooden pedestal, "the Q-Jet. It's light so it won't get in your way during your operation, and it even features some improvements over its predecessor."
"Such as?" asked Bond eagerly, though not showing it.
R, through long practice, detected the faint eagerness in 007's voice, but chose to ignore it for the time being. "I took the liberty of adding a regenerating fuel supply. Now, when you land, the unit will start pul
You Only Live Forever 1It was night over Fukuoka, Japan. All was normal on the island itself. City lights glowed, traffic flowed, and it was peaceful overall across the scape of the land.
At least that's how James Bond perceived it at this very moment. Flying above in his helicopter, as part of his current mission, he could not help but to wonder what made Japan so remarkable. And yet so sour underneath, as evidenced by his earlier briefing.
"007, your next mission is a relatively simple one," said M in the briefing room that morning. Her voice was stern as usual, but strangely, the sternness wasn't directed right in Bond's face. "We believe that a terrorist has discovered a key to world domination."
"Alright, what is this 'key to world domination' you speak of?" replied Bond.
"It's a power called the 'Demon Crown.' It is said to possess extreme magical power to make anything do its master's bidding."
"Hmm. All the missions I've gone through, and magic? That's a first."
"That's because this is the first time
