Meet Samus AranWe see a giant "Meet Samus Aran" banner at the front, with a short yet triumphant section of the Metroid theme to accompany it.
DISSOLVE TO: A shot of SAMUS' boots walking along the dirt-encrusted remains of K-2L. She kicks aside several spent ammo casings and steps on an abandoned pair of glasses as she walks.
CUT TO: KRAID. He is sitting in front of the camera, speaking to the person out of shot who is interviewing him.
I fear no Hunter. But that...girl? She scares me.
CUT TO: A shot over SAMUS' shoulder. She strides calmly into a Space Pirate encampment. We see in the background several SPACE PIRATES fighting for hiding spots.
CUT TO: A SPACE PIRATE COMMANDO. He too is being interviewed on camera.
I ain't talkin' about HER, alright?...She's not HERE, is she?...How do we fight this fucking thing off?
CUT TO: Inside one of the rooms in the Space Pirate base. We hear a Power Beam shot, then the blue door opens. In the nearby shadow, a nervous SPACE PIRATE cowers as SAM
Another M Chapter FourAdam had made his way up to the room that was overlooking the one we had fought the Brug Mass in. Taking a seat behind a computer console, he saw us all, lined up for briefing, through the giant window. This room had been equipped with loudspeakers, and Adam took this to his advantage. With a few keystrokes at his makeshift command center, he activated it and began the briefing.
"We don't know what's been going on here. However, we do know that this ship is badly damaged, and there is at least one large unknown creature rampant. Remember that...thing...we saw crawling around on the outside of the ship?"
His men all nodded. "We need to gather information so we can find out what's up, but our number one priority is to find and escort to safety any survivors. Since we don't know if it's alone, I want you all to consider this ship extremely dangerous, and watch where you step.
"We do have a complication. Something is causing massive interference on all wireless communication bands. As a re
Another M Chapter ThreeAs a group, we eventually reached a large room. We couldn't tell what its original purpose was - what with its wide and tall expanse, circular pattern near the center, and a large bay window overlooking the floor from a deck above the one we were on, opposite the door we came in from. There was a door on each side wall - to where we had no idea.
But there was something else...a dead body, reduced to little more than rags. What I guessed to have once been a lab coat was now only shreds covering even more gory, bloody shreds.
I could hear another of the squad members exclaim at the sight. "Holy shit!" as yet another knelt down beside the body. We all gathered around to hear his analysis.
"He looks like he was chewed apart. I can tell by the marks that whatever hit him was small, likely a whole group of them got him."
I heard Lyle interrupt him, pointing up at one of the far walls. "James, do you mean something like those?"
What he pointed at was slightly alarming. What had once been a no
Another M Chapter TwoEveryone ran towards the door that I had come through, and all took to their knees as an explosive charge detonated. So that's what had knocked me off my feet earlier, I thought, They had been attempting this for quite awhile. But aside from the tremors and obvious scorch marks on the blast door opposite my entrance, the explosions had done nothing.
The unnamed squad member who had first recognized me got up, groaning, "No dice." He walked up to the blast door that was apparently outwitting him. "No power, no doors. Explosives - either they don't work or they would make collateral damage. What now?" He continued to muse what he could do.
One of his squadmates walked up to him and added, "Maybe Tony's BFG can cut that. It would take awhile, but it's been done before."
Said the first guy back to the second, "That's what you said about explosives and this blast door when we got here, Maurice. And all this time I thought you were an engineer."
The second man, who I assumed was the "Maurice
The Twisted Mockery, SA-XClang. Clang. Clang. The metal-clad boots echoed in the chamber beyond, and I knew it was here. It had tracked me, hunted me here. It had been trying to kill me ever since I got here.
As I opened the door and stepped through, the worst of all the things about this monster crossed my mind. I strode across the wide, open metal floor of the station's main control deck, the door sealing shut behind me and locking tight.
Across the room, waiting for me, was myself. The abilities I had, so did it, for it was grown from me. The armor it had, it used to be mine. Pure, prestigious orange, signifying the last and greatest in ancient Chozo technology. Sleek lines, perfect construction, ultimate craftsmanship.
It had all been taken from me, twisted by the evils of the X Parasite, its machinations now controlling what had once been a part of me. Now, I stared down my former self, here in this room. I had to kill it. It had to kill me.

Crocomire, Scourge of NorfairThe tunnel had been dug under the surface of the planet Zebes, deep within the crust of the region they called Norfair. It seemed like your run-of-the-mill mining tunnel, it was perfectly cylindrical and plenty wide its entire run, and had tool marks etched in all the surfaces. The soft red rock that made up the majority of the crust here enclosed the entire space, leaving only three exits. The first two of those were the ends of the tunnel, wherever past they lie. The third was my entrance, embedded in the ceiling leading to another cavern.
I walked down one of the paths the tunnel offered me, and soon I came across a strange creature. It seemed to be asleep, oblivious to my very presence. All I could see of it in the tunnel's poor lighting was a thick, red hide and eight beady eyeballs behind closed lids. Not looking for a fight, I snuck past it and went on.
A bit further down the cave, I found that part of the floor was submerged. But it wasn't water, no, it was something else entir
Draygon, Terror of MaridiaThe darkness wrapped the whole room in a deep, unrelenting gloom as I jumped off the ledge to the floor below. My Gravity Suit assisting me, I fell through the surprisingly clear waters, and I fell even further than I thought I would. I dropped to the sandy ground, sinking such a distance that even with the Gravity Suit I wouldn't be able to reach the ledge I had taken the leap from.
Looking for an alternate exit, I surveyed the room again. If I had failed to notice the exact depth on my first look, maybe I hadn't noticed something else. I swept the submerged chamber full circle, Arm Cannon ready for anything wanting to catch me off guard.
Instantly my mind went into combat mode. Where did that come from? I couldn't find what had made that roar, or knew if it was coming for me.
That one was definitely closer. Unlike the last one, I could actually tell the direction this one came from. I turned in that direction, waiting for whatever ha
Another M Chapter OneWhat a mess...
The stars in the viewport, which were zooming by faster than the speed of light, faded into the spectacle before me. Was this a ship?...a space station?...some sort of Noah's Ark in space?
"Was this the origin of that distress signal?" I asked myself as I gazed out at the massive gray metal cylinder that lingered in my view.
Whatever it was, it was badly damaged. Entire pieces of it were detached and drifting near the wreck. It sure looked the part of an S.O.S. Only a few lights on its exterior were lit. Maybe there was still someone inside who may know what happened? I didn't know. Neither my eyes nor my ship's scanners could find anything that could have caused this kind of damage.
However, what I did find was some sort of docking bay. It was located on one of two ring-like structures that looped around the thin end of the cylinder. "I hope it still has working teleporters. This thing is huge!" I commented aloud as I piloted my craft in.
A few minutes later, the landin
