Another M Chapter ThreeAs a group, we eventually reached a large room. We couldn't tell what its original purpose was - what with its wide and tall expanse, circular pattern near the center, and a large bay window overlooking the floor from a deck above the one we were on, opposite the door we came in from. There was a door on each side wall - to where we had no idea.

But there was something else...a dead body, reduced to little more than rags. What I guessed to have once been a lab coat was now only shreds covering even more gory, bloody shreds.

I could hear another of the squad members exclaim at the sight. "Holy shit!" as yet another knelt down beside the bodyAnother M Chapter Threein Another M

Another M Chapter TwoEveryone ran towards the door that I had come through, and all took to their knees as an explosive charge detonated. So that's what had knocked me off my feet earlier, I thought, They had been attempting this for quite awhile. But aside from the tremors and obvious scorch marks on the blast door opposite my entrance, the explosions had done nothing.

The unnamed squad member who had first recognized me got up, groaning, "No dice." He walked up to the blast door that was apparently outwitting him. "No power, no doors. Explosives - either they don't work or they would make collateral damage. What now?" He continued to muse what he could do.

The Twisted Mockery, SA-XClang. Clang. Clang. The metal-clad boots echoed in the chamber beyond, and I knew it was here. It had tracked me, hunted me here. It had been trying to kill me ever since I got here.

As I opened the door and stepped through, the worst of all the things about this monster crossed my mind. I strode across the wide, open metal floor of the station's main control deck, the door sealing shut behind me and locking tight.

Across the room, waiting for me, was myself. The abilities I had, so did it, for it was grown from me. The armor it had, it used to be mine. Pure, prestigious orange, signifying the last and greatest in ancient Chozo technology.The Twisted Mockery, SA-Xin Contest Entries

Crocomire, Scourge of NorfairThe tunnel had been dug under the surface of the planet Zebes, deep within the crust of the region they called Norfair. It seemed like your run-of-the-mill mining tunnel, it was perfectly cylindrical and plenty wide its entire run, and had tool marks etched in all the surfaces. The soft red rock that made up the majority of the crust here enclosed the entire space, leaving only three exits. The first two of those were the ends of the tunnel, wherever past they lie. The third was my entrance, embedded in the ceiling leading to another cavern.

Draygon, Terror of MaridiaThe darkness wrapped the whole room in a deep, unrelenting gloom as I jumped off the ledge to the floor below. My Gravity Suit assisting me, I fell through the surprisingly clear waters, and I fell even further than I thought I would. I dropped to the sandy ground, sinking such a distance that even with the Gravity Suit I wouldn't be able to reach the ledge I had taken the leap from.

Looking for an alternate exit, I surveyed the room again. If I had failed to notice the exact depth on my first look, maybe I hadn't noticed something else. I swept the submerged chamber full circle, Arm Cannon ready for anything wanting to catch me off guard.

The stars in the viewport, which were zooming by faster than the speed of light, faded into the spectacle before me. Was this a ship?...a space station?...some sort of Noah's Ark in space?

"Was this the origin of that distress signal?" I asked myself as I gazed out at the massive gray metal cylinder that lingered in my view.

Whatever it was, it was badly damaged. Entire pieces of it were detached and drifting near the wreck. It sure looked the part of an S.O.S. Only a few lights on its exterior were lit. "Please step in here, Mister Charles," the nurse said, gesturing into the door she had just opened. It led into a small checkup room, equipped with a scale, a bench, and other assorted medical devices.

The young man to whom she was gesturing complied, seating himself down onto the bench as the nurse followed him and closed the door. She had a memory card in her hand, she plugged it into the computer station and flipped through the various files. "I see you've kept yourself healthy over the past fifteen years, yes?" she remarked to her patient.

The cannons cooled off, and soon Sam was able to continue firing. This time, he fired in bursts to avoid overheating and improve accuracy. Another TIE fell to Sam's blasts, then another, and another as Sam finally got the hang of being a gunner.

After seven TIE kills, Alora finally managed to get past Shire's orbit. Now that no planetary body's gravity could affect the ship, she punched in the commands and blasted into hyperspace. "Phew!" exclaimed a relieved Alora as she relaxed in the chair. Sam deactivated the guns and followed suit in his own chair, as the ship cruised through hyperspace to its rendezvous point.

Precious Cargo: Chapter 5Alora could see her target immediately. He was crawling out of a hatch as she was fighting Stormtroopers. As she mopped up the last of the white Imperial knights, Sam watched with curiosity and fear. It was after Alora strode away victorious that Sam unfroze.

"Wow," Sam remarked, "they sure do send only the best."

"Thanks for the compliments, but don't thank me yet," said Alora back to Sam. "We're still in deep trouble." Alora noticed Sam's still sopping wet attire. "You try swimming out of here?"

"I did. Don't worry, the data's dry. But I forgot all about the computer cooling systems," Sam replied.

The data center was already busy enough trying to catch a slicer, Captain Juno was scared out of his wits when one of his ensigns came back and told him the scanners were detecting an unauthorized ship entering the atmosphere.

As Alora's ship descended further into Rohan's cloud cover, she walked back to the weapons locker just behind her bridge. A scarlet catsuit and a pair of gloves with various deadly weapons awaited her there. Donning this suit, Precious Cargo Chapter 4
